Learn About The Highway 407 Extension into Durham Region
If you are planning to move to the east of Toronto, Ontario – Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice, Brooklin Bowmanville, and Clarington – the commute will be a lot easier in the near future. Highway 407 will be extending through the Durham region and will allow for easier commuting to Toronto. At the moment, the 407 extends to Brock Road in Pickering, and will be eventually extended to Clarington. This will be an important addition to allow the cities and towns to get an easier commute to Greater Toronto Area, or the GTA.
The decision to open the 407 east of Pickering was a positive decision to do. With the increase of new homes in the East, the decision was easy to be made. With the expansion of the 407, jobs could be created, business opportunities could be made and population growth can occur. As with the 407 highway, there will be a fair toll placed. There will be different completion dates to the highway, but the final year of completion will be 2020 in Clarington.
East of Toronto is an untapped beauty that can assist in families starting a new journey with their loved ones. Durham is an amazing area that is emerging as a new “must-live” area in Toronto. It is roughly 30-45 minutes away from Downtown Toronto, but has a phenomenal transit system – Go Transit and Durham Transit – that will help anyone get to and from work. With the expansion of the 407, this will again allow for easy access to Toronto and neighboring cities.
